La finlandese Tanja Poutiainen ha vinto lo slalom gigante di coppa del mondo di Soelden con il tempo di 2.24.96. Secondo posto per l'austriaca Kathrin Zettel con un ritardo di 1 centesimo. Terza, dopo essere stata al comando della prima manche, l'azzurra Denise Karbon con un distacco di 32 centesimi. Manuela Moelgg, 2/a dopo la prima manche, è uscita per un errore nella manche decisiva.
L'austriaca è stata soccorso con l'elicottero e verrà portata alla clinica universitaria di Innsbruck
La prima manche dello slalom gigante di Soelden è stata interrotta per la brutta caduta della campionessa austriaca Nicole Hosp. Secondo le prime notizie, avrebbe riportato una sospetta lesione al ginocchio sinistro. L'austriaca - 26 anni, 11 vittorie di coppa e la passata stagione praticamente senza gare per un altro infortunio ad un ginocchio - è stata soccorso con l'elicottero e verrà portata alla clinica universitaria di Innsbruck.
